Health and Safety. - Stephen post

RH16 4QU

When making our thriller opening, we must ensure that health and safety is taken very seriously. There are rules and regulations that we must follow.
We have made a decision on the location of the film and it will be at "RH16 4QU". This is a relatively isolated area so there are many health and safety factors that we will need to take into account.

The area is private land so we have asked permission of the owner to allow us to use it.

Below is a series of photos and videos of the location of the filming. The reason that films and photographs are taken is so that you can see all the the filming area and all of the potential hazards which are within it.
What we have here is an aerial view of the location that we are choosing to film at. As you can see it is relatively rural.  This brings up some health and safety issues which need to be seen to. Due to the location being rural, if an accident did happen, access is not that easy for emergency services so we will have to take extra care when planning to ensure the safety of the actors and film directors.

Above, is a video of the main location that we are filming at. The clip shows very clearly what the surroundings look like and the potential hazards which could be dangerous when relating to health and safety. As you can see, there is a large amount of machinery, old buildings and loose ground which we are going to have to watch out for when filming.

Fire Safety

As part of our film there is a high possibility that we are going to use a fire therefore we are going to need the right equipment to ensure everyone's safety is not at risk. Even though it will be a very open environment we must take health and safety very seriously.

Also we will be using a jerrycan in our thriller opening and we need to make sure that it is completely cleaned out and no petrol remains in the can. We will be filling it up with water to replicate the petrol when we pour it from the jerrycan in our clip. We will be throwing

  1. in your video, you go "oops, could have tripped on this". Mention that tripping and hurting yourselves is a major risk and how you will minimise this.
