Lighting Decisions.. Rosie's Post

Some of our footage will be shot outside which means that we will be relying a lot on the ambient lighting (natural lighting available). Because we are filming outside, we will hopefully begin filming about 4 o'clock as we need to have relatively dim light but still be able to see our subject and location.

Equipment that we will experiment with will be a reflector. This will be useful as the natural light begins to disappear as we can bounce light onto areas that we need.

For many of our medium and close up shots, we intend to use just a key light - this is because we think the harsh shadow created will lead to an eerie atmosphere due to shadows made.

For our key light, we will use an LED light, because its portable and practical for our location. If we want to change the intensity of the light throughout our footage, we can use a diffuser which is simple and easy to use. We have decided that we will probably alternate between using a tripod and handheld as it will create a more jumpy effect.
